This year we visited 16 states in US, one city in Canada, and two states in India.
Krishna has uploaded about 1300 photos this year- and haven't finished uploading them all - yet!! Here is a slide show of 120 of his favorites of 2009!
Photos showcase our travels at home, around America (Colorado, Indiana, Iowa, Kansas, Missouri, New York State, Pennsylvania, Tennessee, Utah), Canada (Toronto) and around India (Chennai, Kanchipuram, Kochi).
In these, you can view spiritual scenes at Hindu temples, Christian Churches, Mormon Festivals, Buddhas in Gardens, natural scenes such as waterfalls, night-time star trails, desert and rock structures of the Wild, Wild West, fog, rain, sunsets, beaches, forests, moutains flowers, fruits, and tourist attractions (Niagara Falls, Festival of Lights - Toronto, Fireworks in Rochester, Gateway to West - St. Louis Arch, Iowa 80 - World's Largest Truck Stop, Arches of Utah, more).
This year, I uploaded about 65 videos to youtube. I had a hard time picking favorites. Here are two favorites and a playlist of all 65. Enjoy at your leisure.
The first is a video driving on 70W in Utah. There is a stretch of about 200 miles with few people, towns, animals or water within the view of horizon! There is no water connections or electric connections in these areas. As we pull into the 'view area' (rest area) at the end of the video, notice the light posts. They are powered by the sun. The small building that is slightly visable on the right (made of rocks, it blends into the scenery), is the toilet. Since there is no water connections there, it is a pit toilet. They provide hand sanitzer and toilet paper in these toilets. It impresses me that this desert is hot and dry in the summer and cold and snowy in the winter! This place leaves me with mystery and fascination. I want to go back.
My second favorite is our trip to Pennsylvania Wilds in North Central Pennsylvania. This video captures only part of our adventures. Here we met my old college-mate who is now living in UK with his wife. The Tioga Central Railroad is highly recommended by us. The scenery is impressive outside and inside the train! We also went camping and biking on the Pine Creek Rail Trial (in video) and star gazing at Cherry Springs State Park (there is a photo of the star trails in Krishna's slide show).
This year was my first attempt at making videos of me talking to you! I personally address people in some videos about my new business and tutorials on adjusitng to American culture and English language. I hope to offer more of these kinds of videos into the near future. Ideas on topics welcome - post your thoughts below in the comments section.
