Hello Cultural Enthusiasts:
Greetings and wish you are having a great August!

Before getting into the posts of the last one month, I want to thank you- and everyone for your support over the past 12 years while I have been blogging! This month commemorates the 500th post to Alaivani since this blog started in March 2007! I appreciate you for spending your time here!

Have you ever considered moving to another country? Maybe you already have? There are many questions and emotions one encounters along this journey, that we may not have ever expected or imagined. This past month, I have featured the stories of Barbara- an American who has fully Italian-ized herself (is that a word!!) and Lisa who has roots in America and India. Their stores are fascinating and bound to inspire! I personally know both of these amazing women and hope are you as inspired by them as I am!

Barbara - An American in Italy Her life and times in Italy (By the way- I found out her husband knows little if any English- so she translates everything for him when they are in America! No words describe my respect for her!)
Random Cross-cultural Experiences Barbara Noticed in Italy

Lisa - My So-Called Jeevitham (From USA to India)
The Authentic Journey of Lisa: The Struggles of Identifying with India While Growing up in America (part 1 of 3)
The Authentic Journey of Lisa: India it is! (part 2 of 3)
The Authentic Journey of Lisa: From India to U.S. - Fighting Stereotypes and Embracing Identity (part 3 of 3)

This month, I also remember Uma, John and Swatikrish from my old TRIPOD site. There, they shared some thoughts on their Hindu and/or Indian identities. Click through for their interesting insights.
